The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, meaning ‘to join’ or ‘to yoke’ or ‘to unite’. Yoga means union: union with all the parts of ones’ self, union with each other, and union with the natural world. When done consistently, (we recommend practicing twice a week), yoga helps to keep your body strong, mobile, and healthy and your mind focused and clear. Yoga is also a great complement to other physical practices like sports, weight training, or cycling because of its emphasis on balance on both sides of the body and flexibility.
